Filmmaker Brandy Yanchyk is busy planning the next steps for her production company Brandy Y Productions Inc. which will include corporate work. This is one avenue that has been very successful lately. Of course Brandy will be making more travel series like Seeing Canada as soon as she can! Brandy Yanchyk was chosen as Cohort 2 of the BANFF Spark Accelerator for Women in the Business of Media. "Breaking Loneliness" is a documentary about people finding ways to escape loneliness and social isolation.

This Friday, November 13th #BreakingLoneliness will be airing on AMI-tv at 8pm ET across Canada. Tune in.

Loneliness is a social epidemic that is impacting all age groups around the world. Although most of us are connected on social media, we have never felt more alone. Many of us find ourselves isolated from our communities and feeling lonely.

In this new documentary, Breaking Loneliness, we follow four people; Indigenous Peer Support Worker John Chief Moon, 2SLGBTQ+ Liaison and Peer Support Worker Jace Laing-Schroeder, volunteer Tom Greyson and ESL teacher Julie Kraychy — who have worked to overcome their own loneliness and social isolation and are now helping others to battle theirs.

On September 30th it is Orange Shirt Day and we honour the Indigenous children who were sent away to residential schools in Canada and learn more about the history of those schools.
In September 2020, Brandy Yanchyk was asked to film two survivors who spoke about their experiences in the documentary “Every Child Matters: Reconciliation Through Education” created for the National Centre for Truth and Reconciliation.
Brandy filmed survivors Phil Fontaine in Calgary and Chief Wilton Littlechild in Maskwacis.
