Brandy Yanchyk’s documentary Breaking Loneliness is starting to air across the USA on public TV stations. She was interviewed today by Shelley Irwin on the WGVU Morning Show to talk about why she decided to make this film on loneliness.

Today Brandy Yanchyk participated in the “Analyzing & Building Better Work Relationships” #BANFFSpark workshop with Diana Kawarsky. She’s the President of The Soft Skills Group. Thank you Banff World Media Festival & Schulich School of Business - York University for this opportunity.

Brandy is in Cohort 2 of the BANFF Spark Accelerator for Women in the Business of Media. It's an important new initiative to help increase the representation of women entrepreneurs in the media sector.

Through this new partnership, Banff Spark will provide participants with program instruction and a tailored curriculum developed with the unique entrepreneurial and industry expertise of faculty at Schulich’s Arts, Media and Entertainment Program.

Happy 100th Birthday Peter Kule! He is one of Canada's leading educational philanthropists. Filmmaker Brandy Yanchyk is thrilled to be making a new documentary about Peter and his wife Doris Kule. They are from Edmonton, Alberta and donated $17 million toward post-secondary institutions across Canada and focused on celebrating Ukrainian Canadian culture.

"Breaking Loneliness" is a documentary about people finding ways to escape loneliness and social isolation.

This Friday, November 13th #BreakingLoneliness will be airing on AMI-tv at 8pm ET across Canada. Tune in.

Loneliness is a social epidemic that is impacting all age groups around the world. Although most of us are connected on social media, we have never felt more alone. Many of us find ourselves isolated from our communities and feeling lonely.

In this new documentary, Breaking Loneliness, we follow four people; Indigenous Peer Support Worker John Chief Moon, 2SLGBTQ+ Liaison and Peer Support Worker Jace Laing-Schroeder, volunteer Tom Greyson and ESL teacher Julie Kraychy — who have worked to overcome their own loneliness and social isolation and are now helping others to battle theirs.

#AttachmentsOfLife is a new documentary by Canadian filmmaker, Brandy Yanchyk, about how our belongings alter our lives. The film follows five Canadians with distinctive relationships with their possessions: a collector of classic cars, a senior with hoarding disorder, minimalists living in a tiny house and a woman who has lost her possessions.
