Filming at the Whitney Plantation for the Louisiana episode of "Seeing the USA"

Filming at the Whitney Plantation for the Louisiana episode of "Seeing the USA"

While we were filming an episode of my travel series "Seeing the USA" in Louisiana we visited the Whitney Plantation. It is about an hour outside of New Orleans.
It is the only plantation museum in Louisiana with an exclusive focus on slavery. Here Dr. Joy Banner told us about the lives of the enslaved who were forced to cultivate sugar and rice on this plantation from 1752-1865. Joy is a descendent of some of the enslaved people who worked here.
You can learn all about this important part of history in my travel series "Seeing the USA" when it airs on Amazon Prime Video and on public TV stations in the USA including PBS. #SeeingtheUSA
